Hey,
here are some examples of my past works
As an Interior Designer, I give attention to details and design framework that every project needs. I have worked with local and international brands and have built a strong portfolio that spans across different fields and practices in the design industry. For the past recent years, I have focused on retail design, events and exhibition work across the region.
“The Form of Simplicity”
Red Dot Exhibition
China
Kingsmen Q Awards - Merit Recognition
(2019-2018)
This exhibition in both Beijing and Wuhan, China showcased more than 150 individual products - each with its own plinth and layout in an area of more than 1400 sqm. As the design lead of the project, careful space planning and meticulous attention to detail were key factors in achieving the best user flow to translate the exhibition narrative and story. It was through deeper understanding of the behaviour and psychology of the viewers that adjustments to the design were made - noting that design is always a continuous process.
While our team was based in Singapore, the client, Red Dot was based in Germany. The power of technology proved its way to be the best bridge between teams with different time zones. Learning how to adjust and adapt to changes are vital to the project success as well.
The Exhibition “The Form of Simplicity” was viewed by more than 100,000 visitors that lasted 3 days.
Acuvue Retail Shop-in-Shop
Singapore
Videre @ Forum Mall
The Acuvue concept store in Singapore’s high-end mall - Forum, is a one of a kind space, and first in optical stores in the country where it presents a brand new and sensorial experience that caters to all user demographics.
It centers on different gamification and interactive touch points that give focus on eye health care. Refreshing and dynamic forms complemented with warm tones and texture patterns created an updated yet timeless design.
User-centric design was the ultimate goal for the space, as the team participated in different focus groups and brainstorming to create a space that would cater to the needs of the users. I closely worked with the content strategist and the project head to strategize on the project goals needed - we have conducted market research as well as desk research to see and compare if our initial concepts and design would be competitive enough to achieve the desired goals.
The team received positive feedback from the store owners and staff and have commended us for designing a new, fresher and fun interactive space that users greatly enjoy.
Centrepoint Mall
The Acuvue Define shop-in-shop delivered a first for the brand - a collaboration space with a cosmetic brand.
Acuvue Define has been revolutionizing the trend on eye health and eye care - as this store is a first of its kind where they have collaborated with cosmetic brands to offers a complete lifestyle experience. This shop-in-shop presents the whole range of products that caters to different needs and wants of the user. A selfie corner for young influencers who want to express and share their “define” moment presents a fresh and fun way to engage customers - these are a few of design elements that elevated the different touch points of the store.
SK-II Event Sites and Summit
Japan and China
Various Campaigns (2020 - 2019)
SK-II Event Sites
I have conceptualized and developed design for event spaces that feature the different campaigns of the brand. With great knowledge of the brand CI and deep understanding of its core attributes, I have developed retail event spaces for SK-II that demonstrated the flair for brand proficiency.
SK-II Summit
Lead the two designs for the China and Japan Summit where meticulous space planning was the priority. To create an experience that would cater to business executives and stakeholders with a careful presentation of the different campaigns was a feat but what stood out the most was the easy and comprehensive flow of the narrative of the event.
Punggol Discovery Cube
Singapore
HDB Singapore (2017)
A visitor centre for the residents of the Punggol estate, this project presents the rich history of the past, present and future of Punggol.
I’ve closely worked with the internal team that comprises of production and project management, multi-media consultants, technical designers and as well as the carpenters and material suppliers to achieve and meet the needs of the client.
Working with HDB has been a good practice and experience in dealing with the different stakeholders and decision makers of the project. It has opened my eyes to see their vision for the space and have gained a better understanding on how to deal and manage different views and opinions when it arise.
